Do you know any Hispanics? Do you work with Hispanics?

If you do you will notice that Hispanics are Relational people. There is an unspoken joke that somehow, someway, all Hispanics are related. At times when Hispanics meet new Hispanic people they tend to find something in common with them. My wife’s cousin married my first cousin and though not blood related, i’m related to my wife through the kids of both of our cousins. So Hispanic relationships tend to build faster than most others. That is why immigrants do well when they arrive in the U.S., they just look for another Mexican and hit it off and they help each other out by building Hispanic relationships.  

When Hispanics spend time with other Hispanics, a natural bond occurs. When Hispanics spend time with non-Hispanics the bond is not natural. However if you want to get close to your Hispanic friends and colleagues or business partners, take interest in their family. Remember Hispanics are family oriented and if you take interest in their family you will have a friend for life. Hispanics can become the most loyal people you will ever work with, but you must work with them. If you hear Hispanics mention their family, take personal interest and you have a friend for life.

My parents still know the name of the guy who gave us a tour of the private university that I attended because he was nice to them and he asked about their background. My dad knows him by “Shrimp” because his name is “Cameron” which is shrimp in spanish. But the interactions happened once and it’s been over four year ago. So basic fundamentals about Hispanic Relationships, take time to relate to Hispanics and you will have yourself a loyal friend, co-worker, business partner.
